for once she was dressed down, her bright brown eyes focused on the path ahead of her. being the person she was and spending her saturday in the forest was not something she usually would do. but seeing as she had no parties and her parents wouldn't leave her alone if she did stay home, she decided that the only way she would have time to clear her head and relax was while she was walking through the forest completely alone. her sneakers were old and worn, some that she hadn't seen since she had quit cheerleading when she was seventeen. the clothes she was wearing were an old pair of jeans which were ripped all up and down the legs. she was wearing a large sweater that was too big for her small frame but the way she walked was just fine for her. she considered turning into a male but decided against it, mostly because it would have been a weird feeling, one that she didn't enjoy to often.
the way she walked was different than the forest. she picked her way carefully between each bush and left it almost exactly the way she had found it. but she let out a surprised gasp as her footing slipped and down she went. and much to her dismay she was on a hill that she went sliding down directly on her butt. god damn it! she muttered under her breath as she stood up and slowly went to work on brushing herself up. after awhile she gave up the attempt and instead just sat down again. she sat there and wrapped her arms around her knees, staring directly past the trees and around her. the way her eyes sparkled gave away that she wanted to cry, but she wouldn't and she couldn't. dylan was one that didn't cry. she was one of those girls that every girl wanted to be and every guy wanted to be with. she wasn't suppsed to be the one to break down and cry. with a frustrated sigh before staring directly at the trees again. but this time her head lowered and a frustrated sob wretched from her body and she sat there and cried.

"Waiting for the end to come Wishing I had strength to stand This is not what I had planned It's out of my control.... "
Jonathan, when he found Dylan, was not quite himself. More accurate, actually, he was more himself than he ever was around people. His hazel eyes were deep set, seeming slightly ablaze, some smoldering unnamable quality. His tail, yes tail, flicked against his pitch black legs. He was watching from the trees, well sheltered by the bracken and ferns. He had crouched, his muscles tensed should she be more than she appeared to be. He shifted his weight from paw to paw, simply watching her. He was interested, curious to say the least. What was Dylan Mazani, the queen bee of his university, doing sitting in the middle of the Black Forest sobbing? Jonathan, for one, would like to know. However, he couldn't exactly approach her in his current form. He paused, stuck at indecision. He had been in his black jaguar form for mere hours, not nearly the full day he had intended to spend roaming his domain.
However, a chance like a beautiful fallen girl didn't come along every day. With a decision, the massive black jaguar that was Jonathan turned away from Dylan. He bounded away, a natural predatory agility and grace in his movements. His ears flicked and his lips curled up over his long canines in case he should meet anything - or anyone - that might wish to harm him. Being a shifter, he was never too careful. The long scar down his chest served as a daily reminder - though of what, he could never quite be sure. He reached the banks of the lake. He always came to the lake as a human, crouching on its banks before stripping off his sneakers and t-shirt. They were still in a careless pile on the pebbles. He slowed his pace, padding to the water's edge and enjoying the feeling of the quiet breeze through his fur. What was he doing? Why was he giving up a day in his shifter form for a crying beauty queen?
This chick better be worth my time..
With a sigh that was more of a growl, Jonathan's jet black fur melted away. His tail shrank away and he straightened. In mere seconds, Jonathan was human once more. The only sign of the jaguar that had stood there moments before was a single pawprint left in the drying mud. Jonathan smirked and stepped on it, transforming it human. There was nothing suspicious about a hiker. He sighed, turning away from the water and bending to snatch his shirt. He slipped his sneakers on and took off jogging towards the trees. He hadn't bothered to put his shirt back on yet, he preferred running without it. His predatory senses hadn't quite faded yet, which made it relatively easy for Jonathan to find Dylan again. He stood in the bushes once more, pausing to pull his shirt over his head and compose himself.
A moment later, the trees and bushes shook as Jonathan stepped into the open. He stood silent and still for a moment, as if surprised to have stumbled upon Dylan sobbing in the woods. He didn't come any nearer to her, suddenly wishing he had simply stayed in his shifter form. Yet she was here, and sobbing for a reason - though he didnt know what that reason was. He was sure she would be aware of him soon, if she wasn't already. He cleared his throat quietly before speaking. His voice was soft, comforting and light.
"I've always been taught that a gentleman never lets a beautiful girl cry." He walked towards her calmly, crouching at her side. He rested his elbows on his long legs. He waited for a reply for a moment, running a hand through his ebony hair. His hazel eyes, the same eyes his jaguar form had, were trained on Dylan. Hesitantly, he extended his hand to her to help her up. He grinned, her sobbing hadn't stopped yet. He spoke again, his voice quieter and slightly teasing. "Or perhaps that was Fergie who said 'big girls don't cry'." He grinned, his hand still out. Jonathan was ready to be her knight in shining armor.
"Flying at the speed of light Thoughts were spinning in my head So many things were left unsaid It's hard to let you go..."

xx. the whole time she had sat there, slowly becoming more relaxed with her surroundings and allowing the tears to stop. She glanced toward Jonathan as he walked forward and she slowly got up; glaring up at him. Her eyes were narrowed as he walked forward and directly toward her, but when he offered her his hand, she almost couldn't say now. with a frustrated look on her face she slid her hand into his and allowed him to help her to her feet. Dylan looked at him for a few moments, mud covering her jeans as she stood before him and gazing at him quietly. dylan slowly reached her hands up to brush a little of it off and came back unsuccessful. with a frustrated sigh she gave in and watched her hands as they rubbed the mud that had clung to her jeans onto the thighs of her pants, all ready knowing that these pants would have to be thrown away when she got home.
after a few moments, she glanced toward jonathan again and she watched him with her intense brown eyes. her hair was pulled back in a pony tie and her head tilted just enough where she could look up at him comfortably and still give him the normal look that she did everyone else, that she didn't give a shit. okay, congratulations, you helped me out of a mud puddle. what now mr. smooth-guy.
she grumbled and put her hands on her hips with her knee bent slightly and she walked a little ways away, careful to make her movements as carefully as she could to prevent herself from falling in the mud. then she turned again and watched him. it was obvious something was on her mind, but that wasn't something that Dylan could admit to.[/blockquote]

For a moment Jonathan thought that she might actually refuse his outstretched hand. However, she slowly slid her hand into his and he lifted her gently to her feet. She withdrew her hand quickly, obviously not in the best of moods to be rescued. He had to say, it could have gone worse for her. He didnt think he was that bad of a guy to be rescued by. He had a pretty nice six pack hidden underneath his loose t-shirt and a winning smile. Dylan Mazani, it seemed, would live up to her reputation of being 'hard to get'. That was okay by him, he had kind of been hoping she would be. Plus, he hadn't been looking for a relationship, just a chance to flirt with a good looking girl.
"Okay, congratulations, you helped me out of a mud puddle. What now, Mr. Smooth-Guy?" Jonathan grinned genuinely and laughed slightly. He crossed his arms over his chest, watching her failed attempts to brush the mud from her jeans. It was obvious something was on her mind, but at least she wasn't crying anymore. She had moved away from him, walking cautiously in what he guessed was an attempt to prevent another fall. She was watching him, her gaze telling him clearly that she didnt give a shit. He kind of liked that. Look who's got some attitude. He shrugged at her, still grinning.
"We have a number of options." He uncrossed one arm, raising a hand to count off each idea on his fingers. He raised his first finger. "One, I could sweep you, literally, off your feet and carry you to safety out of the terrible woodlands while you gush your thanks and maybe something extra about how strong and handsome I am." He raised a second finger. "Two, I could turn around now and leave you here. You don't seem particularily happy to have my company and I had plans of my own. You can make your own way through the forests." He paused, looking her up and down. "Though honestly, Dylan, you really didn't dress for a woodland adventure." He shook his head slightly and raised his third finger.
"Lastly, you could simply let me help you out. The way you walk and the way you're dressed just scream "I have no idea what I'm doing in the forest'. Luckily, I do know what I'm doing." He raised an eyebrow at her and recrossed his arms. "Or if none of those suit you, you could combine them or choose something you come up with. Truly, I'm open to suggestions." He was grinning confidently. Subconciously, he shifted his crossed arms over where the raised jagged scar went across his chest. It was covered by his t-shirt, but he still felt the need to hide it. He wasn't sure why.

xx. Dylan lifted her gaze up toward the sky as she continued to walk cautiously around the clearing. Her feet sank into the mud every few steps and she had to stop to wiggle it free before continuing on. But before she made it near him, she would stop and turn the other way, pacing in a half circle around their little clearing. why am i here? she asked bitterly in her mind as she paused and slowly gripped a branch of the tree and swinging herself slowly forward and around the tree, nearly disappearing into the shadows that surrounded the clearing even in the middle of the day before slowly slipping back through them on the other side, leaning with her side against the tree and resting her hands on her hips comfortably.
xx. she raised her face to look at him and her bright brown eyes to look directly at him. she watched him for a few more minutes and she smiled slowly. well for your first idea, i don't see that happening. why would i give you credit for doing what any other guy would have tried to make himself seem decent with doing? she said matter-of-factly. Her eyes raised up to him again as her own fingers ticked up in answer to his, each finger going up almost exactly the same as his did. as for the second, you wouldn't leave me here. you could have ignored me in the first place and that wouldn't have mattered to me either. I really don't care if you stick around to help me or if you leave. the look on her face turned into more of a smirk as she continued talking with him, her eyes focused on him and the way his arms were crossed to look like they were covering something. and lastly, if i wanted your help, i would have asked for it.
xx. she gazed at him directly as her fingers closed into a fist before clenching onto her hip again as she leaned comfortably against the tree and smiled a little. it was true, she would have asked for it but as she stood there, she began to realize that she had no clue which way to go or how to get out of here. she wasn't even sure how she had gotten this far into the forest let alone how she had managed to get to the forest. she was almost positive she had ... walked? no she had parked her car a few miles away hadn't she? with a soft, murmured curse, it became evident that she had no clue where she was going but she wasn't going to admit that. if you really feel you need to be here, go ahead. i may not be able to get out of here on my own, but there is no way that i am going to ask for help if i don't need it.

"Waiting for the end to come Wishing I had strength to stand This is not what I had planned It's out of my control..."
Jonathan was decidedly liking Dylan more and more by the minute. Definately not for her charm, that simply was something Dylan either didn't posses, or didn't enjoy utilizing. It wasn't for her sweet nature, that was laughable at best. Nor for her innocence, Dylan was pure destruction. It wasn't her kindness, or beauty, or sense of humor. No, Jonathan liked Dylan for two reasons. She was difficult, and she was interesting. They both knew she would need his help to get out of the woods, yet the way she spoke she twisted the situation to make it like she was doing him a favor by allowing him to accompany her. It was truly incredibly entertaining for Jonathan. His expression was a hybrid cross between a grin and a smirk. The best thing, he decided, was that Dylan was very much like himself. Maybe she was even a shifter.
"Qell for your first idea, I don't see that happening. Why would I give you credit for doing what any other guy would have tried to make himself seem decent with doing?" Jonathan's eyes lit up with amusement in response. He nodded his head subtly, not speaking to interupt her speech. Inwardly though, he responded and gave her a round of applause. This chick was smarter than she looked, with a sweet tongue dripping with poison. Touche Dylan, touche. And I don't need to make myself seem decent. You and I both know I'm enough of a gentleman to have come in the first place. But hey, that's cool. Shoot me down, I'll climb back up again just for the pleasure of irritating you. And now she was continuing, barely giving him room to take a breath.
"As for the second, you wouldn't leave me here. You could have ignored me in the first place and that wouldn't have mattered to me either. I really don't care if you stick around to help me or if you leave." Jonathan's grin/smirk only widened in response to that and he nodded his head. She was completely correct in every aspect. You're quite analytical, look how much we're learning about each other. We'll be friends in no time at all. For the record, I'm pretty sure it did matter to you. As much as I'm sure you would have loved to spend the day and probably well into the night wandering aimlessly lost in the woods, you probably appreciate me arriving just a little more. Oh, but motor-mouth was on again, speaking a mile a minute this one was.
"And lastly, if i wanted your help, I would have asked for it." Jonathan couldnt resist commenting on this one. It was just too amusing to him. "You would understand why I might find that hard to believe, not that you haven't been incredibly gracious and grateful for my help already." He grinned and laughed. "If you really feel you need to be here, go ahead. Ii may not be able to get out of here on my own, but there is no way that I am going to ask for help if I don't need it." Jonathan raised his eyebrow but simply shrugged. He was still grinning, cool and confident as ever. This was his domain, his home and his territory. In a small sense, Jonathan had the power here. "Then you don't have to ask for help, I'll just offer it. It's called a compromise." He walked over to the tree she was lounging against. Up close, he was quite a bit taller than her. He stood a fair length away so she wouldn't have to tilt her head to far to see his eyes. He offered out a bent arm and did a small mock bow. "I offer you my arm, as any respectably gentleman escort would." He was charming and he knew it, he was just trying to find exactly what would work on Dylan.
"Can we make a little deal? You try and be civil and I'll get you out and back to your car in less than half an hour - with no further damage to yourself or your clothing." He grinned and kept his outstretched arm waiting.

xx. her dark eyes danced as she watched him quietly. Dylan's eyes were focused on his mouth when he talked and when he had finished, she gazed upward a little farther to his eyes. she didn't like being shorter and at the same time she was rather happy about being shorter. she always had a thing for taller guys and she wasn't exactly sure why.
xx. her eyes followed him as his arm reached for her again. his offer sounded better than her plan and she figured that if she tried hard enough she could at least try to be nice. slowly she pushed herself off the tree, a silent submission to his idea but she didn't take his arm or even attempt to. she hardly even looked at him as her hands scrunched her hair in -- what looked like -- frustration before she turned to look at him over her shoulder after taking a few steps into the shadows again. so, which way mr hot shot? she said quickly before biting her lip and glancing away from him again.
xx. so this would be harder than she thought. WAY harder than she thought. Dylan had never been one of those people that let people in. she had never been one to let down the hard outer shell of her heart. it had happened only once and her life had changed because of it. with a frustrated sigh, she turned back to face him, her hands gripped her hair and pulled it slowly out of the pony tie. i'm sorry.
she said apologetically before looking up at him again. she was extremely quiet again.[/justify[/blockquote]

"Waiting for the end to come Wishing I had strength to stand This is not what I had planned It's out of my control..."
Jonathan grinned as she refused his outstretched arm and proceeded to walk a few steps in precisely the wrong direction. She then turned back and apologized. He shrugged, unfazed. "No hard feelings. Plus, I'm quite enjoying all my new nicknames." He winked at her and walked the few steps to stand at her side. She was obviously being nicer, holding up her end of the deal. If she could play nice, why couldn't he? He lowered his voice, some of the teasing air going out to be replaced with a gentler subtle kindness. He could tell this girl, Dylan, was more upset than she wanted to let on. What kind of gentleman would he be to antagonize her? He liked the way this was shaping up and there was no point in ruining it so soon. She had let her hair out of the pony tie and even in her current muddy and disheveled state, he had to admit she was pretty freaking attractive.
He lowered his voice to something akin to a murmur, quiet and calm yet slightly joking. He snaked a muscular arm around her waist, resting it on her well defined hip. He leaned down slightly to speak to her. "As much as I bet you'de like to visit the lake, maybe even take a swim, that's not the right way Dylan." He added her name on the end, breifly wondering if she was comfortable with him using it. Did she even know his name? He didnt think so. He used the hand on her waist to turn her around, though once that was done he didnt relinquish his hold on her. She was warm and he liked the feeling of her body softly pushed against his own. "This, is the right way." He began to walk, now using his hand around her waist more to steady her and keep her from falling. He, naturally, had no problems. He was used to this, plus he had a cat-like grace and agility thanks to his shifter form. He said nothing, leaving her to her silence. He broke it after a few minutes, finding there was one last thing he wanted to say.
"Jonathan, since you never asked. My name is Jonathan."

xx. her eyes followed the ground ahead of her, slowly adjusting to the darker part of the forest. when his arm snaked around her waist she resisted the urge to pull away. she gripped his hand that was against her hip before slowly pulling her hand away, not wanting to seem rude and secretly liking being this close to him. it was weird for her wanting something like this. she usually wasn't one of those girls, ones that melted at the touch of a guy, but this was an exception. he was different, not just looking to be one of the in crowd but would have easily fit in with her cliche as well as anyone else's.
xx. her eyes followed him quietly as they walked, and as they did Dylan found it harder and harder not to lean against him and walk with him like this. she loved it. for some, unknown reason, she absolutely loved it. when he spoke, a smile split across her face. well to be honest, i do know who you are. i just didn't want to seem like a creep using your name the second i actually met you. but apparently you have no problem like that. she said teasingly. she bit her lip as she walked at his side, her hand rested lightly over his that was rested on her hip. as she continued to walk next to him, Dylan couldn't help but smile. this was something she liked and something she could live with. especially when he treated her like a human being, unlike her other friends which usually acted as though they couldn't have cared less so long as they went to all the hit parties too.

"Well to be honest, I do know who you are. I just didn't want to seem like a creep using your name the second I actually met you. But apparently you have no problem like that." Jonathan turned and grinned at her, his eyes crinkling at the sides as he laughed. He shook his head and went back to looking ahead. "No, Dylan, I have no problem with that. I wouldn't peg you as the type to care what you "seem" to be though." He raised an eyebrow, glancing at her as he did so. He hadn't missed the smile that had split across her face, nor her hand resting gently on his. Did I just break a certain someone's shell? He turned towards her again, the light in his eyes and the tone of his voice were teasing once more. "Is...is that a smile? Is the imfamous Dylan Mazani smiling in my presence?" He spoke with mock shock and widened his eyes.
As he waited for her reply, he subtly pulled her slightly closer. She hadnt shoved him away, moved his hand, complained or insulted him. He assumed that was Dylan's equivalent to acceptance. He was curious just how far he could push this. It was no longer about entertainment though. It was something different, something he couldn't quite place. He wasn't sure when things had changed, but he was sure that they had. While he was walking, he absentmindedly stroked his thumb up and down where it rested on her hips. He wasn't being suggestive, nor attempting to make her uncomfortable. It was subconcious in a way. He was lost in thought. Normally, he walked with his hands crossed over his chest and his thumb would rub against the raised jagged scar he was covering. For one of the first times, his arms weren't across his chest, so his thumb stroked Dylan's hip. It was like a habit.
The trees began to thin, but they had reached a ravine. The steep incline spread out before Dylan and Jonathan. He stopped, looking thoughtfully at the hill. He glanced down at Dylan, then back at the hill. With her shoes and lack of familiarity with the forest, this incline was going to be hell for her. He had hiking shoes and was used to the terrain. The ground was still slightly damp, which made it muddy and slippery. There was almost nothing to grab on to. If Dylan tried to climb this, she would be doomed. He frowned slightly and turned to Dylan. He carefully masked his gaze as he spoke. "Alright, from this point we have three choices." He held up the hand not around her waist and put up one finger. "Firstly, we could go around this hill. Honestly, its going to take about twice as long. Not that I wouldn't mind extra time in your company, but something tells me you prefer the quick way out of here." He grinned and continued. "Secondly, we can hike up this together. I'll hold on to you so you can steady against me. Even so, its going to be pretty hard for you and I can't guarantee you'll stay on your feet." He hesitated now. He was being completely serious, but he doubted Dylan would believe him.
"Last option, you could let me carry you up."

xx. Her brown eyes raked across the terrain as they walked, taking everything in and for once on this expedition she had fallen completely quite. Her eyes followed everything that moved around her, still taking it in as though she was alone and had the time to think on her own, imagine the possibilities that surrounded her walking alone. when he spoke again, she began to smile even more, her small smile turning into a full fledged grin before she giggled softly. don't get used to it sweetie. it doesn't happen often. she said softly, after realizing that he had pulled her just a little closer. what is wrong with me? why don't i want this to stop?
xx. she inhaled sharply and just stayed there, pressed against him comfortably and looking at him quietly. every time he looked down at her she felt a small tingle and couldn't help but look down at their feet, watching the steps they took. he wouldn't lead her wrong. she would have placed any amount of money on it if it was necessary. with a small smile, she looked up again as they came to the hill. but when he started speaking, she looked up at him. Dylan had been raised to look at someone when they spoke, and that eye-contact was the best way to go simply because it was easier to know who they were talking to, even if there were no doubts that Jonathan was talking to her anyway. well to be honest, the third one won't happen. it just won't. i refuse to give you more of a shot at being a knight in shining armor. the smile on her face was half amused and half true. as she looked up at the hill again, she couldn't help but curse herself for saying it. well i guess that isn't a terrible idea, but it still isn't going to happen. xx. Dylan looked at the hill then back at her rescuee and couldn't help but smile again. She thought it was kind of sweet that he had stayed with her, but at the same time she couldn't let on that she thought that. he would probably have held it over her head. as for the second, i am not falling in the mud again. that wasn't fun the first time, i don't want to do it again. she continued thinking over her options as she waited to speak. but i could live with spending more time time with you. at least if you still want me around. she said softly, a small smile on her face as her hand still remained against his that was against her hip. she was oddly comforted with him being this close. she felt like she was safe with him here and that was more than enough for her. with a small smile, she looked at the ground again, slightly embarrassed by what she had just said but at the same time knowing that it was completely true.[/blockquote]

Jonathan had turned to meet Dylan's gaze and frowned slightly at her words. He had purposely made the first two options sound as undesirable as possible. He wasn't ashamed to admit it. He wanted her to choose number three. She hadn't, had even made a point of saying she would never take it. That left him to go with plan B. Compromise. "Well to be honest, the third one won't happen. It just won't. I refuse to give you more of a shot at being a knight in shining armor. Well I guess that isn't a terrible idea, but it still isn't going to happen. As for the second, I am not falling in the mud again. That wasn't fun the first time, I don't want to do it again. But I could live with spending more time time with you. At least if you still want me around." She had flat out refused, but indirectly given him leverage. He grinned down at her and looked up at the sky briefly. His next act would take a lot of courage, and just might get him slapped across the face. For Dylan, he realized with surprise, he was willing to risk it.
His arm was in the perfect position around her waist. He used it to pull her quickly and suddenly around. Smoothly, his other arm wrapped around so he encircled her waist. He tilted his head to look down at her, still smiling softly. He held her firmly, though not pressed innappropriately against him. He could feel the soft press of her hips against him. His skin tingled slightly and he savored it in case she decided to push him away. He really hoped she wouldn't. His voice was like a murmur. "Can't we compromise, Dylan? How about this. You do me the honor of allowing me to carry you up this hill." He paused, letting his emphasis sink in. He wasn't going to be all knight in shining armor with her. She would be doing him a favor, she would have power. He would owe her. He continued before she could flat out refuse.
"In return, I'll take you back to your car on the longest route back through the woods. " He sighed, his thumb absentmindedly stroking her back as he talked. He was relishing the feeling of holding her. It was pretty damn romantic too. When had he become a romantic? When had he cared? Well what have you done to me Dylan? He spoke again. "And if that isn't enough, I'll take you back to your home. You can get all clean and dressed up. Then I'll take you out to a nice dinner, no mud and no trees guaranteed." He raised his eyebrows hopefully at her. He leaned his head down further, so his forehead almost rested against hers.
"Although I feel slightly guilty that so far, there isn't a down side for me."

xx. Her eyes danced when he pulled her closer, wanting more than anything to be near him and be happy. Her eyes were bright as she watched him kindly and couldn't help but smile. Almost out of instinct, her arms wrapped softly around his neck, holding in a loose loop as she watched him quietly. well, i dunno. she smiled softly after he asked her again if he could carry her up the hill and then his other options came into play and again, Dylan knew, that she was in charge. With a small smile, she blinked softly and watched him quietly. if all options are still in play, the longer path and dinner, i guess i really couldn't say no. her eyes danced as she looked up at him still, watching him speak and with his face this close to her's, Dylan's smile returned. xx. When he mentioned that there was no down-fall to his side, she couldn't help but giggle a little. just a little. It wasn't her fault that she was beginning to feel giddy around him. he was trying too hard to make it seem like this was coincidence. when she felt his thumb rubbing against her back she just smiled, her brown eyes directed up to him. to be honest, there isn't much of a down-side for me either. i dunno if this is bad or not, but i like being around you. needless to say, that doesn't happen often. She said with a small smile plastered onto her face the whole time. She couldn't help feeling this way. It was all too sweet, to... perfect. She had been the damsel and him a knight, and it bothered her only a little knowing that she had given into this... into him a little too quickly. honestly, i would love to spend a little more time with you like this. Snide comments aside and just us. xx. If he knew how much he had her right now, it would have been horrible. He had her wrapped around her his finger and all he had to do was say something and Dylan probably would have tried to shoot it down with no success. she simply looked into his eyes as they stood like this, her eyes taking in his appearance, the color of his eyes, she shape of his face and every moment she did she couldn't help but imagine anything else. Being with anyone else right now. With a smile she turned her head, looking away and downward toward the forest floor. She was more than happy knowing he couldn't read her thoughts right now. If he could, she seriously doubted that he would have minded, but at the same time it would have embarrassed her to no end. so, what now? it's all up to you. [/blockquote]

Jonathan felt his heartbeat quicken as the impossible happened. Dylan agreed. She would let herself be carried, spend more time in the forest, and go to dinner with him. That was a date, a serious date. Jonathan smiled down at her. She, the renowned Queen Bitch Dylan, had relinquished her choices to him, Jonathan Willis. He looked at her, considering her. The way he saw it, the world was wrong. Queen Bitch Dylan didn't stand secure in his arms. No, he was holding Hidden Beauty Dylan tight against him. That was what he wanted, and what he was beginning to realize she just might want too. How far would this go? How far did he want it to go? What had they gotten themselves into. Jonathan was silent as he thought back to when he had found her, still in black jaguar form. He had considered leaving her there, sobbing and muddy. He would have turned his back and none of this - whatever this was - would have happened. Thank God I went with plan B.
He smiled at her, it was a soft expression. As he held her, he felt the sudden fierce flare to protect her. He wasn't sure why or how it had gotten there, but there it was. She was like a porcelin doll in his hands, to precious to ever let go. Perhaps, if his played his cards right, he wouldn't have to let her go."It's all up to me?" He grinned at her, leaning his head forward to touch her forehead with his. "That is definately new." He was silent as he considered for a moment, pretending to ponder exactly what he would do. Without warning, his arms dropped from her waist and he swooped her up in his arms. She really was quite small and he was undeniably strong. He grinned ruefully at her. "I guess I'm going with plan B then."
He started to walk forward up the incline, feeling Dylan's arms clasped around his neck. He paused after only a few seconds. He dipped his head with ease, making a split second decision he hoped he wouldn't regret. He kissed her gently, nothing passionate or suggestive. It was small and sweet, a quick soft press of his lips against hers. He whispered to her, still grinning. "I promise I'll never drop you."

Secret Valentinewe'll right a song that turns out the lights. xx. Her eyes danced as he kept her in his arms. She was watching him with a silent intensity that would never have been opened up to anyone else. She had never once considered opening her heart to anyone, but he had succeeded. He had more than succeeded. He had chiseled through the ice and now stood there with her for the first time. It was like a whole new world to Dylan, something she had never considered or wanted to open up to but now knew that she was completely happy with herself as well as him.
xx. She smiled as she was swept into his arms and nearly smiled again. The smiles were just rolling out of her which were only reserved for her younger siblings and her closest friends. But these were something that he would never have seen if he wouldn't have stayed with her. These smiles wouldn't have been directed to him if he wouldn't have stayed with her for this long. She more than knew by now that if she would have rejected him once through this day that she wouldn't be like this and would probably still be wandering around hopelessly. honestly, what was i thinking putting you in charge. just don't fall. i would feel bad and we would both get muddy. that doesn't sound all that great to me.
But when he kissed her she felt her mind go numb and her worries faded. She simply watched him for a few moments afterward, hearing his promise and just smiled. her gentle gaze was focused on him as he carried her and she rested her head against his shoulder lightly. She found comfort in it and smiled again. xx. for the second time in her life, she was completely happy. her eyes danced as she watched him and slowly traced the trees. She found comfort in his arms and blinked a few times. first and lasts suck. this will probably be the last time this ever happens. she thought bitterly and emotionally and mentally shrank back away from him. She could all ready feel hallow feeling inside her physical shell as she was being carried. what were you doing out here alone? she asked, realizing that she never had asked and that she hoped if she changed the subject that her head would stop buzzing with the numb feelings that would return once he left her. she all ready saw it, she had let him too close and now she would get hurt.[/blockquote]
