SHAYA ROSEN Shaya Rosen,, Break the lock if it don't fit, A kick in the teeth is good for some, A kiss with a fist is better than none... The sunlight streamed through the window and hit her hair, setting it alight and making it flash an glow in the warm yellow light. Her chipped, scarlet nails were tapping lightly against the window as she stared out at the busy street. Every so often she would click her tongue against her teeth in irritation and boredom as she waited. The service today seemed especially slow as she waited for the lady to bring her the promised coffee. The smell of other people's drifted over to her from the tables around her and she shot their steaming cups a dark glare. She needed some coffee now, she was going insane with boredom and a good shot of caffeine might give her the energy to do something. She was dying to get outside and shift, but the Lynx within her was telling her to wait till nightfall, an age away in this early morning sunshine. Her tattered, rip and repair dress was soft beneath her fingers as she pulled it down to cover a bit more of her legs as a guy began to stare. She raised a provocative eyebrow at him before rolling her eyes as he fell for her pretense. She wasn't interested, she wanted someone who could string a sentence together without sounding like a moron, even if they were only for one night. That, she thought, was one of the advantages of swinging both ways, whatever bad times you had, you always had the other gender to fall back on. The woman placed the cup of coffee on the table, gave the red head a short smile and walked away quickly. Outside a dog barked loudly and Shaya restrained herself from flinching. She hated dogs, the cat in her wanted to run and flee from anything that came to close with that scent on them, they put her on edge. Raising the mug to her lips, she sipped the burning liquid and exhaled in relief, perfect. A few minutes later and she was still there, surveying the other customers with an arrogant, challenging smile. Frankly, there wasn't really another option when you looked as distinctive as Shaya, arrogance was the way to go. Feet up on the table, boots and everything, ripped and repaired dress and a smile that made you look twice, whether it was in a good way or a bad way was up to you. At a guess she would say there were no other Shifters here, they all looked a bit boring. Still, even the boring ones could be shifters, just dull shifters. Though, she thought wryly, she knew how to make even the most tedious of people more interesting, she just had to work a little...charm? She gave a wicked grin and winked at a man sitting not to far away. He blushed crimson and looked down at him book, prompting a throaty laugh from the girl.

xx. A ding filled the room and eyes turned, even if some only looked for a few seconds. Others kept watching as the feminine creature walked in. Her hair was perfectly curled and bounced when she walked, she was wearing a dress that probably didn't cover enough of her body. Dylan glanced around her and a sly smile spread across her face when she noticed a few older men watching. She offered them a smile and walked carefully and precisely up to the counter, her heels clicking the whole way there. She knew most of them were still watching so she leaned just slightly over the counter, palms down and fingers hooked over the edge. Tall Carmel Mocha. She said easily before swiping her card and turning to a table.
xx. Even when she was alone she made herself look good, she walked directly over to a couch and crossed her legs, leaning back enough where she looked comfortable but not enough where she was taking up a lot of room. Being petite and taking up a lot of space didn't fit in the same sentence. Her curls bounced as she lifted her head and read the posters around her calmly before lifting up her cell phone. She had a party again tonight and she was completely bored with them. For once she just wanted to go home and sit around, bum around even just so she could relax. She didn't want to do what homework she had because that wouldn't be considered relaxing in her book. Dylan? Her name was called and she got up, taking the coffee in her hand and walked back to her spot. But on the way back she noticed a girl who was winking with man. She stopped briefly, amused by the scene as she had seen it many times before and still couldn't get enough of it. The laugh that came next seemed to grab her attention and she walked over to the girls table instead of returning to the couch she had been sitting on.
xx. Dylan walked over and looked at her. You mind if I sit here? But she didn't wait for an answer either. Shortly after the question was asked, she sat down, crossing her legs and taking a sip of her coffee. I'm Dylan. Who are you? She didn't seem shy as she sat here, offering her hand to her. She glanced at what the girl was wearing and the way she was sitting and pulled back a little. She was suddenly wishing that she hadn't sat here and gone back to her own life. But she didn't want to be that rude. Manners hadn't been her thing but she wasn't rude enough to do that. She had seen before how she seemed a little worried about the dog outside earlier too and seemed more curious than before. Was this girl another shifter? She doubted it though, remembering that she too feared dogs because she had been attacked by an animal shifter. That was also why she detested animal shifters.

Well, this one certainly was...pretty? Shaya's eyes roamed over the beautiful girl, a smirk flashing across her features as the girl moved toward her. She was very surprised as the girl sat with her, not many people dared to sit near the girl. They all looked terrified if she came too close. She already liked this girl.
You mind if I sit here? I'm Dylan. Who are you? Shaya was considering her reply when the girl looked her over and visibly recoiled away from her. It wasn't like Shaya wasn't used to it, but it still stung a little. Why sit down if you don't like what you see? She rolled her eyes at the girl anyway, making her the exception to Shaya's sharp tongue, she was hot after all. She swung her legs off the table and leaned forward, taking her hand in her own and shaking it briefly. Her rough English accent cut through the gentle thrum of the coffee house as she responded. Of course, please do have a seat. Dylan you say? I am Shaya, lovely to meet you... She finished, looking like she was going to say more, but deciding against it. Instead she picked up her mug again and took a sip, placing it back on the table and licking the bead of dark off her bold red lips. She didn't even want to imagine what Dylan must think of her peacock feather eye makeup and bright hair, she suspected it wasn't good.
What brings you here, darling? She might be a shifter, it would be nice to meet another one, as long as they weren't something stupid. On the other hand she could be a human, a hater. It was difficult to tell and Shaya hated guessing games. She shifted sharply as the dog barked again, leaning away from the window and closer toward Dylan. Her body bent forward, sparkling dark aways alive with mirth as she watched the girl, arrogance radiating from her in waves. This was fun and if she was lucky, she might get to take this one home.

no one can save me THE DAMAGE IS DONE. you give love a bad name. xx. her lips pressed together and formed a tight line that was more like forced smile. she realized that she had nothing to say and so took a sip of her coffee, attempting to give herself enough time to think. but before she knew what happened, she heard her company speak and she set down the paper cup with the lid and drummed her white tipped nails patiently against the side. i am shaya, lovely to meet you. with a stiff nod, she watched as she raised her cup to her bright red lips and dylan looked away sharply, realizing that she was staring. this girl was different, something that dylan had never tried to associate herself with someone like her and so found it to be a marvel that she was sitting here and attempting to strike a conversation even. what brings you here, darling?
xx. dylan felt her mind go blank as she tried to peel an answer away from the outer layers but couldn't seem to do it. she glanced toward shaya when she flinched and moved closer to her. she fought the urge to pull away and instead turned her mind back to the question. coffee. i come here every day just for my coffee. she nodded before turning her attention back out the window before glancing toward shaya. she wanted more than anything to ask what was bugging her so much about the dog outside but fought the urge to ask yet again. it wasn't normal for her to hold back her questions this easily. usually she would have been all over knowing what was going on and why it was happening. with a heavy sigh she bounced her leg lightly over the other knee and rolled her ankle slowly, subconsciously watching her toes point down and then roll around before it was completely set the way it had been before.
xx. dylan had long since learned that compassion didn't fit into her life and that her whole existence after the last three years of being a secret mother had been devoted to making sure that she never loved for fear that she would let someone too close and share the only secret that not even her slutty friends knew. the sigh she breathed was filled with frustration, her bright brown eyes slowly dulling and becoming distance but she pulled back again. what she asked was so far away from the topic that was running through her mind that it made her smile just a little. do you not like dogs? or are you scared of them? or ... what? she asked, her eyes focusing back on shaya and taking her in. she was rather amazed watching her because she could tell that she was pretty. she didn't fit to everyone else's standards of pretty, but for dylan, one thing that she had learned was that beauty wasn't completely unavailable to everyone else. she had been blessed with most of it, but she was constantly finding herself jealous with something that someone else had that she didn't.

The girl was nervous, uneasy. It made Shaya wonder what was going on in the girls head, one minute she is all legs and curves and winks, the next minute she is a wreck, treating the girl like she was a ticking bomb. She almost shrugged, but realized that would look weird, so she simple settled for observing her casually, her dark eyes smoldering with an unknown emotion that could have been lust or anger. While she was arrogant to the world and everyone in it, Shaya wasn't as comfortable in her own skin as she made out to be. Sure, she liked this body, liked everything about it, but she hated the way she was judged for it, like Dylan was doing at this very moment. Not that it was her fault, she could have been brought up to avoid people like her. She respected that Dylan had the manners to not just walk away though, she was sticking with Shaya until the bitter end.
coffee. i come here every day just for my coffee. If she tried to avoid meeting her eyes any more, Dylan would have to face the other way, Shaya thought dryly, watching as the girls eyes flickered to the window again. She followed them there, watching Dylan's reflection in the glass. She was unmistakably beautiful, naturally as well, Shaya liked that in a girl. There were few people that could genuinely claim to be pretty. This girl was and there was a beautiful edge to her every movement, this was a girl that Shaya wanted to know and not just for her body, though that would be a nice extra.
Dylan started speaking again and Shaya blinked once, her long eyelashes brushing her cheeks before she processed the question.
do you not like dogs? or are you scared of them? or ... what? She shifted, glancing away for the first time to try and gain her composure. For all she knew this girl was also a shifter, alternatively, she could hate them. She needed to keep quiet about shifting. She gave a half grin and shook her head slightly before meeting her eyes. Dogs...They don't scare me, they just set me on edge, I don't get on with them very well. She leaned forward, shifting the focus from her to the other girl with one word. You?

xx. Dylan shrugged her shoulders a little and laid her elbow against the back of the chair and rested her chin in her hand. her eyes followed the edge of the sidewalk and reflected back and her before she focused on her own reflection. she saw her beautiful self and then turned away bitterly. Well, honestly, yeah I am. I got attacked by one when I was eight and ... ya know, never felt the same about them. she said quietly, slowly turning her gaze back to shaya. she slowly took in her appearance and smiled a little. she was one of those people that was more than met the eyes. she was pretty, you just had to look past the extreme dressing and makeup she wore. with a comfortable sigh, Dylan leaned back into her chair and drummed her fingers against the table a few times. what about you... what brings you here? she asked politely, her eyes focusing on her mocha which she took another sip of and raised her gaze back to shaya. the whole time she was waiting for an answer her finger moved slowly along the outside of the cup, watching as her finger moved carefully along the lid.

The coffee mug had spotted spewing the warm, scented steam and was colling quickly. She didn't really notice though, her mind had been quickly distracted by the girl, the coffee, while lovely, paled in comparison.
Well, honestly, yeah I am. I got attacked by one when I was eight and ... ya know, never felt the same about them. She nodded sharply, a small shudder running down her spine and an ugly, violent frown creasing her features briefly. She could sympathize with Dylan, she carried a fair few scars from where she had got into a fight with a Great Dane shifter, nasty bitch.
what about you... what brings you here? She didn't answer for a moment, absorbed in Dylan as she spoke. She was heart-breakingly beautiful, in a way that Shaya rarely valued. Suddenly she wasn't looking at her for a quick lay, but actually assessing her features. They were perfect in the way that Shaya's could never be. Dylan turned heads, but in a good way. Shaya would be quite happy to stare at her all day long. I need some time to relax, you know? Chill out and grab a caffeine boost. You can meet people here, and that is always fun. She grinned at her, not letting any of her thoughts pass through the confident mask she wore.

xx. She simply shrugged her shoulders, picking up the cup and repositioning herself in the chair. She leaned back a little and watched the steam roll from the coffee that shaya seemed just as interested with it. her eyes danced as she watched her, gaze focused on her eyes and slowly raking over her features before returning them back to her eyes. Her blind red hair was the only thing that she considered too ... bold. It was obvious that it was died. IF her hair really came in that color, Dylan would have pitied her more than she did all ready. Her nails drummed against the back of her chair and sighed quietly before nodding quietly. yeah, i guess i see the reasoning behind that.
she said quietly, her bright eyes focused on the way her hair was syled and the way she seemed a little too... in tune with everything around her. She sighed and turned her attention back to the window, looking for something that would catch her interest and amuse her for longer than five minutes.[/blockquote]
