xx. He shrugged his shoulders and stretched with his arms above his head. He brushed his hands across the trees as he walked before sighing sadly. Lived in England for most of my life, moved here after I started living with my grandfather and i dropped out of school. He said with a shrug and yawned quietly, his eyes focused on the trees. He occasionally would start to look over at her but make himself look away again. Her eyes were focused on his shoes again by the time he was walking. so what is knew with you? He asked kindly, his eyes focused on the ground as he kept walking. He forced a small smile but didn't let it reach his eyes.

SHE'S THE SYMBOL OF RESISTANCE [/size][/size][/font] and she's holding on my heart like a hand grenade[/size]  [/size][/center] Scarlett thought for a moment, what was the newest thing with her? Besides the fact that this was the first person outside of her family that new she was a Shifter? Nothing really. Scarlett tapped a finger on her chin, then finally something came to mind. She turned and looked at Avolon. And this was the first time she had really looked at his face, she took in even mark, and then she took in a deep breath so that she would always, always remember his scent.
"The newest thing that is currently going on in my life…is…." She pulled her lips together in a tight line and then finally she said, "I’m dropping out of University." She said nodding. Her smile wavered a bit on her lips, she felt a little uneasy, but that was true. She wasn’t sure if she liked the idea of dropping out of University. But yeah, she was going to. She didn’t need it, and it was not helping her. She was Shifter not a person that needed school or a job. Well, she might need a job, but she had enough money to get by for a few more years. So she wasn’t that concerned.

xx. He nodded, not saying anything to it. It wasn't his job to tell her to stay in school or keep going until she graduated. It didn't matter to him anyway. This would easily be the last time he saw her unless it was simply passing on the street. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair before brushing it away from his face. His bright eyes were focused on the ground as he continued to walk along, touching the trees. Avolon was in a horrible mood now, why, he wasn't sure. But he wanted to go out and walk away, leave her alone and leave the world for a few hours. Just to be alone. But he knew that wouldn't be acceptable and so, with a heavy sigh, he glanced at Scarlett. Congratulations. He said easily and rubbed his arms before stretching them above his head. Any reason behind it or just because you are sick of the work? He said simply, finding it rather annoying how many people dropped out of College, not realizing how much money the spent on it in the first place and then never even considered taking up college again. He sighed and stretched his limbs before gazing up at the leaves of the trees. anything else new? you don't gotta say if you don't wanna though. |

Her brown eyes dropped to the ground and she stared at it. It was an uncomfortable topic for her. But she trusted Avolon with her major secret, why would this one be any different? She sighed slightly and looked off at the trees and into the distance. "I can handle the work…" She said slowly. The work was no problem, she was majoring in English is was not a big deal. Her teacher wasn’t cruel so he barely gave them work. But there was more to it. "I just…I’m having trouble controlling…myself lately." She said shuddering a bit as she remembered how she had partly Shifted, luckily alone, a few days ago. It was scary not being able to control when she shifts. It’s scary being so angry, that everything goes fuzzy and she is able to rip the throats out of people.
"There’s just some people that I…I can’t…deal with anymore.” She said shivering. Her mind skimming all the people that were in danger and all the people that were causing the danger. She shuddered, and her hands began running up and down her arms, trying to warm her and comfort herself. She grimaced, her life was becoming so difficult that anyone she met was really in danger. She sighed and tried to find a way to smile, but for the moment her good behaviour was gone and replaced by a grim and disturbed statue.

For a moment she completely forgot that Avolon was there and she had forgotten where she was, but his soothing and gentle voice brought her away from her terrible thoughts and she felt herself smile again. She looked at Avolon as he suggested dinner, and her face brightened, a smile danced on her lips and nodded enthusiastically. "I would love to go to dinner with you." She said nodding some more.
Not as a date, just as friends. Of course he said that. Not that Scarlett was truly interested in dating, and not that she was exactly…free to date. But still, Avolon was so sweet and so nice that if she was going to date, he would be the one person she would love to date. "Alright, if you wanna go as friends, that’s fine by me." She said smiling happily. Either way, she was going out with him and no matter what, it would be fun and a nice break from her regular life.

Even if they were just going as friends, it was still considered a date in her mind, and because she really didn’t go out in public, except for school, no one really knew her and so dates were very limited. She looked at Avolon as he scraped his shoes against the trees, she glanced at her shoes, though she was used to walking so lightly and stealthy that her shoes barely had mud on them. "I’m good for whenever too." Scarlett said smiling happily at Avolon.
She shrugged not really caring when they went out. As long as they did, and Scarlett would then get to get to know Avolon so much better. Maybe learn a few things about him and share a few things about herself. Maybe they would become friends. That would be amazing. Having a friend that was a Human Shifter. Scarlett’s life was full of boundaries and full of limits, because of the fact that she was part Snow Leopard. But maybe Avolon could see past all of it, and see her for Scarlett the human. And maybe that was how they would be good friends.
"But why don’t we go right now?" She asked smiling lightly. She had no plans and no deadlines, so really she was fine to go out with him at whatever time and date. But because they were together right then and there, that it might just be easier to go out then. "Do you have a specific place in mind?" She asked still smiling and watching him.

   - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -&&. Avolon smiled again and this time you could see a small glitter in his normally tired eyes. His head was spinning and he felt like he needed to sit, but after blinking a few times, he felt better. I could go right now, sure. He said with a smile as he offered her his arm before smiling more. He liked being around Scarlett, which was rather a strange thing for poor Avolon. He usually didn't get to spend time around the people he wanted to, and even when he did, he usually didn't like the people enough to stick around for more than ten minutes. But Scarlett was different, everything about her. Just being a shifter was enough for him to think she was different, and he liked it. He ran his fingers through his bangs and straightened them self-consciously. His gaze was focused on the ground for the next few moments as he was trying to think of a place for them to go.
&&. When he couldn't think of anywhere his shoulders slumped a little. He liked the idea of going out with Scarlett as more than friends, but seeing as how they had met, the whole 'love at first sight' wasn't exactly working out for them. He glanced toward her again and shook his head, mostly from defeat, but partially from annoyance. Well to be honest, I can't think of anywhere. I guess so long as I am with you it really doesn't matter. He paused, mostly because he realized what he said and felt his cheeks actually grow a little red as he went to explain himself. I mean, you are the first person I have felt like I can trust in a long time. I like it. It's a nice change of pace. He said with a smile as he closed his eyes and breathed in deeply, attempting to calm his frayed nerves. He hated being wound up this tightly and it seemed almost impossible for him to be able to say anything that wouldn't sound... weird. With a sigh, he decided he would just shut up, hoping he wouldn't say anything else that would utterly kill his chances.
