OVERALL:
HUMAN-
Never one to blend in, Shaya loves the way people stop and stare as she walks past. It is hard not to notice her vibrant red hair against her pale skin or her eccentric, colourful clothes. She has rich chocolate coloured eyes that are always alive with emotion, whether it be anger or lust. She is about average in size for her age, not that it is something you notice. She is muscled, particularly on her legs, though she is strong overall. Her nails are rarely to be found without nail polish and it is a strange occasion that she is without her bold, over the top make up adorning her eyes.
ANIMAL-
The Eurasian lynx may not be the most beautiful cat in the world, but it suits her. She is average in both height and weight for her age and species. She has beautiful, thinner red fur in the summer, gently spotted with dark brown and black spots. However in winter her fur shifts to become a dark, silky grey and the spots are less prominent. She retains her brown eyes in animal form, though they are considerably larger and brighter, tinged ed with a sheen of amber.

PERSONALITY: Shaya is like the weather, she varies between calm and peaceful, to warm and cheerful, to dangerous and violent. Her aggressive tendencies spring from a childhood full of swearing and violent bursts where her mother would trash the house before passing out on the sofa. She is touchy about the past and tends to snap at anyone who presses her for information. Like the cat she is, Shaya bears a sharply independent streak which causes her to spend a lot of time alone. She loves the thrill of a fight, whether in animal or human form. Shaya has shown sudden bouts of paranoia and finds it hard to trust some figures of authority.
Shaya hates to be caged in by boundaries and rules, a hatred that has got her in a lot of trouble as she has a tendency to do what she wants, when she wants, how she wants. She is confident, sassy and constantly alive. This confidence is frequently taken as arrogance, which is not always wrong. She loves meeting new people and being the center of their attention, without being really vain., though she certainly has an ego. She is very proud that, despite living in America for three years, she has not developed any sort of accent.

It seemed inevitable that she would end up here. Scarlett always had loved bathing in raw moonlight, untouched by the dim sickly yellow light of the city. It was powerful, so many great minds inspired by its mystery and beauty. Not her though, Scarlett, as a rule, did not muse. Musings meant dwelling on pasts and thoughts she had no intention of revisiting, the first time had been bad enough.
Shifting her body she peered over the edge of the building, it was to late for many to be out, and far to cold. But still some managed to walk the streets, always alone and hard faced. They never looked up, always so focused on getting where they wanted to go, never thinking they might be watched by the monsters they hunted.
But then again, it was certainly understandable they would want to avoid the place and definitely not look up. Nobody came here anymore, not after the incident. Which, by the way, had nothing to do with her, for once.
Bored of the dull peoples lives she stood. Licking her lips and flexing her muscles. She wanted to run, as fast as she could away from the stink of the city and into the freedom beyond it. The clouds to the east had the look of rain about them, not what she wanted right now. So she began to make her way west. Jumping the gap between the buildings and catching the rooftops. For a moment she almost fell, but managed to swing herself up and land in a crouch.
Her head whipped round. Had she heard something? Scarlett tilted her head to one side and flicked her tail, but there was nothing there.
She let out a breath, the warm mist disappearing into the night air. Pools of water broke and splashed roughly as she walked through them. The rain had been bad that day, thick and heavy until you couldn't see anything more than an endless wall of grey and feel nothing more than painful thuds and shivering numbness. She stepped in the pathetic weeds that had desperately tried to live in the cracks of the concrete slab. They were dying anyway, ashen and lifeless Even the rain could not put these lives back together.
Midnight was not a time for walking, she decided and took of at a run, kicking of the wall and rolling as she landed. Her breathing increased and her eyes lit up, shining like the moon and reflecting everything. She could feel her heart, still beating and still telling her she was alive. It was nice to know. Even she forgot sometimes, questioned her existence. Not tonight though. Not under this moon and these glints of silver stars. Tonight she lived forever.
